Your guide to Ilfracombe

With its picturesque harbour and its beautiful coastline, Ilfracombe is the kind of town that you’d expect to see on a postcard. As well as sandy beaches there are tall rocky cliffs that are covered in lush, green plants and colourful, wild meadows, making perfect surroundings for walkers and cyclists that can while away their days on some of Devon’s most beautiful tracks and trails.

In the summer months the beaches come alive with thousands of visiting tourists, but even through winter there can be few things more relaxing than a stroll along the sand. Devon’s mild climate and Ilfracombe’s coastal location ensure that winters remain frost-free and that a holiday at any time of the year is an experience to fully enjoy

Ilfracombe at a glance:

  • A beautiful harbour town, with cultural venues and great places to eat
  • Visit a wide variety of interesting boutique shops
  • Enjoy rugged coastal walking trails
  • Visit in summer for Music on the Bandstand or in winter to see the Christmas lights at the harbour
