Llandudno is Wales's largest resort, uniquely situated between the Great and Little Ormes with two wonderful beaches, the award winning North Shore and the quiet, sand duned West Shore. Llandudno has kept its Victorian and Edwardian elegance and splendour, despite its modern attractions.

  • The Great Orme Mines
Uncovered in 1987 during a scheme to landscape an area of the the Great Orme, the copper mines discovered below the ground represent one of the most astounding archaeological discoveries of recent time. Dating back 4,000 years to the Bronze Age they change our views about the ancient people of Britain and their civilized and structured society 2,000 years before the Roman invasion. Over the past 21 years mining engineers, cavers and archaeologists have been slowly uncovering more tunnels and large areas of the surface landscape to reveal what is now thought to be the largest Prehistoric mine, so far discovered in the World.

Wonderful

Just home from a wonderful break at the County Hotel. We had a sea view room, lovely large bathroom, massive bedroom, wonderful food, great service from the restaurant staff and reception staff, all inclusive deal was great, good entertainment and bingo every night. Only a 15 minute walk from the town centre, daily papers supplied. A special mention to Lucas, our waiter, very polite and fast service. The only gripe, the snacks and drinks are quite dear at the hotel, which is a shame. All in all, great deal all round.

Enjoyable Break

Our first time with Shearings and certainly won’t be the last. Nice hotel, very clean and pleasant surroundings. Food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. Hotel was full, but this did not affect the service. We’re looking forward to our next break.

Cannot Fault it

We had a great stay at this hotel. Staff, food and service were five star and we could not fault any of it. Bedroom was spotless and the dining room waiter, Lucas, really deserves a big thank you. He was so helpful and fast in his service, he is to be commended for it. Mike, Lore and Jason made the break very special indeed. We will be booking again. Thank you one and all.

Well Located - Some Nice Staff

The location of this hotel is its best feature with an unbroken sea view. We upgraded our room and it was well decorated although the bathrooms were small they were clean and functional. Some problems with the hotel water during our stay but the cleanliness of rooms was faultless and efficient. I cannot praise the restaurant staff enough particularly the lovely Anna whose manner and attendance was perfect. Only one grouch, the reception staff need to be given more customer service training.

Bay County Hotel

I have just returned from a 5 day break with a friend at the County Hotel. The food was excellent but I would like to say 'compliments to the chef' as each menu had meals marked GF (Gluten free) after them which made my stay there extra special as I always have problems having to ask what the ingredients are in meals, there was also gluten free bread provided which normally I have to take my own with me. I can't say enough how much of a difference this made meal times for me. Well done!

Excellent service and so helpful

As a visually impaired guest I was apprehensive about staying in a hotel that was unfamiliar to me - I did not need to worry!! Dave - the general manager - and his team did everything possible to help me - including allocating me a room with minimum obstacles and ensuring my table in the dining room was in a corner and near a window for extra light. A special thanks to Anna our waitress who was excellent. The standard of the food was also superb I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel!
