Myself and mate went with motorbikes, excellent base for riding round Scotland . The place itself is bit dated but only adds to the charm. Views around hotel are just a taste of what Scotland offer, placed on the banks Lock Lomond, mobile phones signals are hit missy wireless is not happening but again it helps you chill out. We paid £105 4 nights with drinks x4 per night food very nice 3 course every night, staff very helpful and the girl with glasses in dining room was excellent. Good stay : )

Lovely stay due to staff, good food, clean hotel, service with a smile . However no subtitled TV in either downstairs rooms or bedrooms, Coach drivers unaware how to help deaf people from the time we handed our cases in until we arrived at hotel ,the same on our return journey even though we had informed booking I was profoundly deaf . Would not recommend coach holidays to the deaf travelling on their own.

Just enjoyed 4 nights stay and enjoyed every minute, staff so friendly, special big thank you to receptionist who returned our charger. Value for money unbelievable and although rooms are awaiting refurbishment couldn't have been more comfortable, can’t wait to return.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Both times booked with Shearings, though we travelled independently. Our 2nd visit was great. We discovered that there had been vast improvements to the standard of the food served, and the choice was good considering the budget price. We stayed for 3 nights for £69 pp, brilliant value for money for half board. A great location for walking. We got the boat across the Loch and did a walk with amazing views. All the staff were polite and helpful.

Nervous about what to expect after reading some negative reviews but I’m glad to report that I would definitely return to this hotel. Room 212 looks out onto the main road + rolling hills. The food was always hot and tasty + although not large portions, I never left feeling hungry + there was a good variety, delivered to your table before you could butter your roll!! The entertainment/comedienne Des, was so funny, the staff were so nice an all round pleasurable break from the rat race. GREAT!

Old hotel, tired looking on the inside but very comfortable. The food is good (except the sausages) and the staff are great. I’ve been here three times and love the area. I will definitely be back later in the year, great value for money.

We stayed 5 days 4 nights. Went with Shearing’s it was fantastic for the price. Had a great time. Room was warm and bed was so comfortable I wanted to bring it home. We had a view looking out to the lake. The staff where lovely we had a full English every morning and three course meal each evening. It very remote and the village has a post office and a tea room and the hotel along with a few houses and that’s it. If you want a peaceful break with breathtaking views this is the place

We had a lovely holiday at the Tarbet Hotel in Loch Lomond. The staff were great. But bear in mind this hotel is very isolated and the car or excursions are essential.

My husband and I stayed at the Tarbet for 3 nights over Hogmanay. The hotel has an older style but this gives it character. The rooms were clean and warm. We were greeted with two bottles of wine, bowl of fresh fruit and sweets on arrival, courtesy of the hotel – nice touch. The meals were good quality and you had plenty of choice. The staff are absolutely brilliant and could not do more for you. Entertainment was brilliant. Thank you all for a great New Year party.

I stayed on Friday night and have to say that despite the hotel having seen better days (the decor is very 70s, lifts are dated but work) the experience was very positive. The manager was excellent and came to fix my TV, which did not receive any channels. Sadly, he was unable to do so. The food was excellent and the waiting staff very friendly. I would go back, but the hotel needs some TLC and a major investment to bring it up to a more acceptable standard.

My partner and I have stayed at the Tarbet hotel three times now and each time has been great, the food and the staff were good, the rooms were clean and warm, plenty of hot water for your bath, but best of all was the views of Loch Lomond, the area is great for walking. We will be back again in the near future.

I stopped at the Tarbet Hotel about 30 years ago. It is one of the best hotels in the area for the views and if you walk up to the local village, you can see where the soap 'Take the High Road' was set. Loch Lomond was the loch in the series.
