Fort William is known as Britain’s outdoor capital and all around is stunning scenery to behold. At nine miles long and over a mile wide and with Ben Nevis towering above, Loch Linnhe is one of Scotland’s natural treasures. Situated directly opposite Loch Linnhe, you can admire the fantastic views of the beautiful surrounding wooded hills and mountains from this hotel. Along with the dining room and pleasant lounge area, all front facing rooms offer super views of the breathtaking loch.
The comfortable lounge and ballroom host entertainment most nights throughout the year, often with a distinct Scottish flavour, which is perfect for unwinding after a day’s sightseeing or exploring. This extremely popular hotel is just two miles south of the town centre of Fort William, and here you can explore the many small and interesting shops and museums.

Fort William is in an area renowned for magnificent scenery and dramatic history. Here you will find the breathtaking Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, as well as beautiful glens, forests, beaches and Loch Morar (the deepest Loch in Scotland).
By Car:
Follow the A82 to Fort William. On arrival in Fort William, continue to follow the A82. The hotel is on Achintore Road, on the left hand side if coming from the North, two miles past the town centre and on the right hand side if coming from the South, two miles before the town centre.
By Train:
Fort William Railways station is 2.5 miles.
By National Express:

The following places, attractions and things to do are easily reached from the Caledonian:
When the railway came to town in 1890 many Victorian travellers visited the Highlands for the first time - some even arrived by paddle-steamer and went on to cruise along The Caledonian Canal and then into Loch Ness at Fort Augustus. Ben Nevis has been the main source of attraction ever since. The surrounding area is very beautiful with mountains and glens, forests, sea lochs and of course - the Caledonian Canal.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this hotel, we found the food very good and the staff where brilliant, there was plenty to do during the evening, would stay there again and the view from the hotel looking over the loch and the mountains was great, and a big thank you to all the staff.

We've stayed here many times & it just gets better. Food, staff, bedrooms very good. The entertainment has improved greatly. I wish there was something on, on Sunday nights though. The lounges could have been a bit warmer as it was a very cold week-end. But overall wonderful.

I have just come back from a well earned break with national Holidays at this Hotel I cannot say a bad word Staff, Food, Entertainemnt and other guests were brilliant. I would like to say a special thank you to Assistant Manager Donna she made sure that nothing was too much trouble. Bill the bus driver again nothing too much trouble had a really great time Room was clean and tidy Food Excellent Prices at Bar once vouchers are were used was reasonable Would go back and hope to go back soon.

Stayed with my husband and son. We had a lovely time The hotel room was clean and warm as was the bathroom. Beautiful views from the hotel and the surrounding area. Food was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient. Trips to Oban and Loch Ness were great. Would definitely go again.

Lovely 2 nights stay Friday till Monday with my husband, room was nice and big clean and tidy on the 4th floor. Bed was comfortable but springs stuck in me a little, shower could do with a bit higher. Entertainment was two oldies singing which was ok. Staff were excellent good hard workers in bar and restaurant. Great view onto the loch 5 min walk into Fort William Would definitely go back.

Had a fantastic 5 days, brilliant value for money. The staff were lovely and friendly, food was very good and the level of servce, 5 star. The rooms were always clean and tidy; entertainment was brilliant all giving you a Scottish feel with a Bagpiper and Scottish Singers. The view are breath taking, I would definitely go back to the hotel. Excellent value for money and I had a brilliant holiday with my husband. We found it relaxing and had a brilliant time. A holiday I will always remember.

We stayed in the middle of January for a 3 night weekend break. The weather was wet and windy all weekend but the Caledonian Hotel was a haven to be in. The hotel and rooms were warm and clean. The staff, the meals and evening entertainment were above all expectations. We had a great weekend.

We have just returned from a 5 day holiday at Fort William and wow! What a place to go! The scenery is awesome, you have to see it with your own eyes to believe it and appreciate this landscape of mountains, glens and lochs. We have travelled and seen many beautiful places; this is going on one of our top ten. Glenco, Fort Augustus, Speanbridge, Ben Nevis etc are stunning. The hotel is basic but for what you pay, it is excellent value.

The Caledonian Hotel near Fort William is a great get away! I’ve been three times before with my family for the Christmas weekend and dinner and it was great value for money! The rooms were lovely and clean and the food was fantastic. The entertainment was also really good. Especially Carl, who sang and told jokes. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the view from our room at the front was amazing. I am going back next weekend with my partner and I am really looking forward to another stay!
