  • Isle of Wight Zoo
The Isle of Wight Zoo is a family-run zoo with a special interest in tigers and lemurs. The zoo was built within the ruins of a Victorian Fort built to guard Sandown's coast, which means we face one of the Isle of Wight's nicest beaches. Once upon a time the zoo owners used to walk tiger cubs on the beach, and we're still famous locally for it. Nowadays we focus on looking after older tigers and giving them a happy retirement.

  • The Needles
Our world famous coloured sand cliffs overlook the Isle of Wight’s most famous landmark – The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. The Needles Park offers a range of attractions including the spectacular chairlift to the beach, Alum Bay Glass and Sweet Manufactory; the perfect packed day out for all the family. And remember the park is free to enter – rides and other attractions are pay-as-you-go, so you can decide how long the fun goes on!

  • Carisbrooke Castle
One of the main tourist attractions in the Isle of Wight, Carisbrooke Castle is best known as the place where King Charles I was imprisoned. You can still play bowls on the very green Charles used. For a castle that has lived through more than 800 years of service, including resisting a siege by the French and seeing off the Spanish Armada, it's also wonderfully well preserved.

Broadway Park Hotel

The only fault we all had was the Rooms they were very old tired and need of updating staff friendly entertainment good. It was a surprise 70th bday present for my mother in law so we were a bit disappointed as from the outside the hotel looked good. Please spend monies in updating this hotel as it could be a fab hotel. Forgot to mention Food was good as well.

Anniversary Break

First visit to Broadway Park ' self drive. We found the reception staff were very friendly and were soon checked in. On first impression our room was clean but in need of refurbishment i.e. could have done with a modern shower, and new carpet in the bedroom area. On the positive side the food and hotel staff were excellent. The location was superb, and we enjoyed the hotel grounds, and a 10 minute walk into town. We would stay again but would request a better room our room was 203.

Good choice of holiday

We enjoyed our five day self drive holiday to the Isle of Wight, the hotel was good. The menu had a good selection and the service was very good. The entertainment was average, but we enjoyed the Thursday night man best. Shearings always give good value, we will continue to use them.

Great Hotel Break

We stopped on a 5 day Shearings holiday and on first impressions were very pleased, and we were not proved wrong. The room was clean and tidy with all facilities one needs, all the staff were friendly, smiling, well presented, and hard working. Rooms were cleaned efficiently by the cleaning staff, bar staff were ever efficient, and Ayden our waiter was excellent. The food was very good with a good choice both for breakfast and evening meal. Evening entertainment very good and enjoyable 5 STAR.

Just had a five day stay at this hotel, value for money, food great, staff attentive, the free 3 hour bar was excellent, with good service by the three young ladies. overall, could not fault it, our waitress Edina was brilliant as was our coach driver Paul, who resides on the IOW, and knew all the local history, and was a very good careful driver, so thank you Shearings, for a very pleasant five days.

All the remarks about this hotel are true, could not fault anything. All the meals are superb, the staff superb, nothing was too much trouble and the grounds lovely. The only things that could make it better would be the shower cubicles, as getting in and out of a bath is difficult for older people, but this is a personal thought. Keep up the good work!

Wow! Fantastic!

What a fantastic break! The staff were amazing, the food was amazing. They’re such a lovely bunch of people, great coach drivers too, very humorous and entertaining. My wife and I must have been the youngest couple there at only 30. The majority of the guests for this 3 nights break were middle aged and OAPs but its still superb, the level of service you receive. I highly recommend this hotel with flying colours!

Hotel Review

Hotel grounds are nice. Room we had was double bed and a single bed with patio doors which was great. Food good choice, out of 3 dinners I found only 1 that I didn’t like any of the choices. Bar all Inc 7.30pm-10.30pm great and strong not English drinks. Service at meals very good, a bit too quick! You order and then its there, like magic!

review of hotel roadway park hotel 4/10/2010

We had a great holiday with Shearing’s at this hotel. The food was great, all staff were very friendly. We did not see any red squirrels! We think you should put showers in because we think baths are deep for the elderly. That was our only fault.
