Excellent Break
We had a very good, value for money holiday in Ilfracombe. The hotel was very good, clean, good food and pleasant staff. We could not ask for more. Well done to everyone! We thoroughly enjoyed it!

At a glance;
Situated on the level seafront of this hugely popular Victorian seaside resort stands the welcoming Dilkhusa Grand Hotel. The hotel was originally a private house, bought by a Raj at the turn of the last century as a gift to his wife - Dilkhusa translates from Hindustani roughly as ‘House of the Happy Heart!’ The hotel overlooks the picturesque Runnymede gardens and is close to the Landmark theatre which attracts many national acts. It is also just a short walk from the bustling 10th-century harbour where Britain’s most famous living artist, Damien Hirst, owns a restaurant. The Dilkhusa has a well-appointed restaurant combining excellent hospitality and service. A spacious and comfortable entertainments suite provides the ideal setting in which to sit back and enjoy the acts at this friendly and sociable hotel.
The hotel’s car park, which has limited space, is located at the side of the building. If full, a public car park (parking charges apply) is located approximately 300 yards from the hotel.
Our standard rooms are charming and have everything you would expect from a modern hotel - private facilities, a TV, and everything you need to make yourself a hot beverage

I must say I am ashamed to say that when I entered my very dated room and horrible shower room I wanted to leave and book into somewhere else.....especially after turning the tiny TV on and to find only four channels....but hey I thought, it's only a base to explore glorious North Devon, it's only four nights, its clean....now enjoy your holiday and do you know....that's exactly what I would say to anyone who had the same thought as me....give this hotel a chance! Wonderful staff, good food etc

We stayed at this hotel for a week in June. The hotel was excellent and could not be faulted in any way. The staff could not do enough to assist you at any time! Nothing was too much trouble, we would come back again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

Yes the hotel is dated, in places need some TLC. but we had a fabulous holiday with you, our room was kept lovely by Jackie P, who was really helpful, the bar staff were efficient and friendly, Andy the night porter was good. What can I say about Simon Cain, he was 1st class, the entertainment was brilliant, THANK YOU. The food was good except for one evening, THURSDAY, what went wrong, the service was slow, and the beef ran out. what a letdown, to an otherwise good service. would we return?? YES YES.?

This is an extremely busy hotel catering for over 100 people a day. There is a good choice of food for starters mains and sweet served with a smile. We cannot praise the staff enough for their friendly attitude. Our room was quite large and adequate for us the bed was quite comfortable! The hotel is very old but so is my house a coat of paint does work wonders! The location is excellent for walking and exploring. The entertainment was first class Simon Cain well! Go see him brill!

Gutted when I went into the room and saw how dated it was, but I must give you 10/10 for your entertainment, Simon Cain was brilliant, all your staff are excellent, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble, we would definitely return. You put other more expensive hotels to shame.

Had 3 night stay. Do not let 1st impression of outside hotel put you off, needs lick of paint but that’s all. Was 3rd stay in Bay Hotel, having recently been Newquay & Torquay. This was best suited to our group ages 43 - 66. Entertainment in others catered for over 70's only. All staff = superb. Excellent cleaninless, restaurant & entertainment. Suitability for disabled A*, had craftmatic/automatic bed & there are chair lifts on the few stairs to restaurant. Very close to sea front, harbour & town.

We booked this all inclusive break last minute - our aim is to try and get away once a month to survive the winter months and after this short break we will certainly be looking to go again. It was fantastic value for money and the staff were brilliant. In particular the restaurant ran like clockwork and there was great choice on the menus - even a glass of wine included in the evening meals. We had entertainment each evening which we enjoyed . The room was clean but needed a little TLC.
