Relaxing and Enjoyable

Excellent meals and service. Marvellous evening entertainment with the superb David Austin. Only one niggle - my husband couldn't get up and down the stairs to the basement area for the entertainment as he has a walking frame.

Girlie Weekend!

On arrival I’m sorry to say I didn’t expect much but once booked in all was ok. Yes a bit of refurbishment is needed in some areas but my friends and I had a whale of a time. The dining room had a great choice of dishes and all were served promptly and were hot on nice hot plates. Evening entertainment was great too. The staff were all very polite from the housekeeping staff to the main desk and all in between. However we didn’t get our promised glass of mulled wine on arrival! Yes we would return!

Great staff, shame about the Hotel

Just returned from 4 night 'Turkey & Tinsel'. Hotel requires an urgent update. No telephone in our Standard Room. Boiler/Gas breakdown on last night so no hot water the following morning. Threadbare carpeting throughout the hotel. Barely a tinsel celebration - just a turkey meal and small Xmas tree in the lobby. On the positive side, the food was very good, all of the staff were excellent and the evening entertainment was great. Booked independently, so perhaps Shearings customers get better?

Helpful Staff

Just returned from a lovely 4 night break at The Carlton and just wanted to recommend it. Prime location for all things tourist on the front, free parking in front of the hotel and around the side (for self drivers like us), good food and lovely helpful staff. A really nice relaxing holiday :-)

Our 9th stay just booked

This will be our 9th visit in July. We stayed in April and again had a wonderful time. The staff are great and the hotel is very comfortable. I know it needs work doing but each time we visit something have been updated. It takes time and money, but the staff make this hotel and that is one reason we keep going back. The food is always hot and good we have no complaints. Thank you again guys you all get a special mention because you all deserve it. Well done keep up the good work.

Faboulous Holiday

Just returned from yet another great stay at the Carlton. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating, a credit to the company. The food was excellent with a good range of choice and the hotel was very clean and welcoming. Also I was glad to see that a programme of refurbishment had finally begun and I'll be looking forward to seeing the results on my next visit.

Most Enjoyable Stay

Good food and entertainment. The room was comfortable. All in all, probably the best UK hoilday we’ve had. Highly recommended. The Wroxham trip however was a dead loss, not much of any interest there.

Faboulous value for money!

Stayed Monday to Friday from 7th March. Would have to say that for the price we paid £138 each all inclusive the package really is excellent value for money. Meals were excellent good choice and always piping hot. Would agree with other comments that the hotel is due a refurbishment but don’t let this put you off as it is clean and comfortable. Entertainment every night was first class and all the staff are a credit to the company.

4 Star Hotel with 5 Star Cabaret!

What a wonderful stay! All the staff are friendly and happy to help! Great selection of food and all extremely nice. Absolutely loved all of the acts during our stay, especially Helen Ashton, the best voice we have heard in years – warm, welcoming hostess! Look forward to our return and seeing Helen again.

Great Hotel, but crying out for a refurb

Great, lovely old building. Good tasty food with excellent range of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would have given this hotel 4 stars but it is desperate need of a refurb.
