Great Weekend

My wife and I had a three night break with Shearings and it was lovely from start to finish. Coach picked us up bang on time, and had couple of nice stops on the way. Arrived at the hotel, check in was speedy with the friendly reception staff, and room was very good for the price paid, lovely seafront view. Food over the whole weekend was very good with plenty of choice. Service was always speedy and efficient thank you Helene (with an E). Lifts worked OK providing people closed the gate when they got out. Entertainment ... magician on Friday was average, Saturday we were otherwise occupied and Sunday the singer was very good. Bingo ... I can never understand why 33.333% is taken from the prize pot. Room well cleaned and serviced, also the en suite smelt of bleach after cleaning, which was good. Shower was a bit of a tight squeeze for me, but I am a lardy! Shearings driver (Vladimeer) was very polite and professional and we always felt safe, and was excellent on the day trip. Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea front room ... worth it.

My parents have just returned from a 5 day break for my dad’s 75th birthday, of which they had a lovely time. Apart from a very insulting remark made by the compere to my dad, telling him to!! Wind his geriatric neck in!! Just because he was humming along to a tune, this lady wants to remember without these elderly people she wouldn’t have a job.

Nice Break

We were anxious due to the reviews as there were six I our party 4 rooms booked. But were pleasantly surprised on arrival. We all had sea view rooms together as requested. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Would have no problems if we chose to book again.

Well Pleased

We read a lot of negative reviews regarding hotel but for us personally. We had a great break. Hotel very clean, food couldn't be faulted and to us the free bar was an added bonus. We found the staff very helpful and polite and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. I can only say we have stayed at more expensive hotels and haven't been treated half as well. Grant you hotel a little old fashioned but we found it charming and cosy.

Superb Break

Friendly, helpful staff, nicely coordinated, comfortable room with a superb sea view, good food, choices and services. Occasionally my first choice was unavailable due to its popularity. Some of the interior walls could do with some smartening up but on the whole, the hotel is of a good standard.
