Located at the base of the beautiful South Downs, Eastbourne has plenty to keep the most enthusiastic visitor busy and boasts abundant history, numerous scenic castles and lots of places of interest to see.
The Burlington is an impressive hotel, ideally situated on Eastbourne’s picturesque seafront. The hotel overlooks the spectacular Carpet Gardens and Victorian pier and is within comfortable walking distance of the town’s wide variety of shops, local theatres and the beach.
The Burlington has 159 bedrooms including a number recently refurbished, many with spectacular sea-views and the opportunity to upgrade to a Superior or Premier Room. Dine in our delightful restaurant or enjoy a drink in our well-appointed bar and coffee lounge. In the evening there is a varied programme of great entertainment to look forward to throughout the year.

Our most luxurious room option, most of our Premier Rooms come with a four poster bed as well as a spacious refitted bathroom that accommodates both bath and a separate shower. These bedrooms will normally offer extras such as comfortable seating area, a 32 inch digital flat screen television, hair dryer as well as a hospitality tray.
Our Superior Rooms are more spacious and tastefully refurbished, they offer luxurious beds, a 26 inch digital flat screen television. The spacious bathrooms have been refitted with shower over bath. These rooms also come with the facilities to make yourself a hot drink.
Our Standard Rooms are charming and have everything you would expect. The rooms have digital televisions, tea and coffee making facilities as well as an en-suite bathroom.

Just back from weekend break. The hotel is a very good 3 star and is continually being modernised. Praise to all the staff who really all do a great job and try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Special mention to mark (entertainment) and the bar staff superheroes that really are all good sports. Need to work out better arrangements for car park.

We were a party of ten friends who go away every year for a long weekend. Although this was farther than we would normally go it was well worth it. The hotel was warm and comfortable. Although we were a little apprehensive with the lifts, they seemed to be very dated and the small one very claustrophobic. The staff were all very friendly. A special mention must go to Mark the compare he was so entertaining, so was the entertainment each night. We all had a great weekend. Not having travelled with Shearings before would certainly do so again.

WE stayed in a bright cheerful hotel room but the bathroom was very small and cramped. However, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and Moses and his family in the restaurant were a delight! Beds comfortable and clean. WE must remember when reviewing this hotel that the price charged is minimal and even though the food was average it was a break that was good value and we had a pleasant stay. I would return quite happily.

Just returned from a weekend at this hotel. The hotel is a good three star, food was great and rooms clean and tidy the hotel has a very good position on the sea front with everything nearby. For the price one paid it could not have been better. But the car park is a joke very time you want to get in or out you have to get someone from the hotel to unlock the chain. And more staff are needed in the lounge on Saturday night one person walking around, asking like a drink saw him only once.

I have mobility problems and food allergies and our last visit was so enjoyable we are heading back again in couple weeks! staff were helpful especially with regards my allergies, room was well maintained and clean chambermaids extremely helpful, dining room staff lovely and friendly and we enjoyed a good weekend next visit will be 3rd in under a year.

We stayed at this hotel last year and were disappointed with the standard of accommodation, but not the staff who were very good. Having booked for Glyndebourne again we were looking for a few days break to celebrate our anniversary. We tried the Burlington again after hearing about improvements. I would congratulate the staff on the new look hotel WELL DONE. When I told the hotel we would be arriving after 10pm they arranged for one of the largest salads I have seen to be waiting for us.

Stayed at Burlington on 4 night break. Our room overlooked the sea and was spacious and airy. All very clean and the service of housekeeping staff and especially in the restaurant was excellent. The choice of food was good, but sometimes unimaginative. Not a lot of choice on breakfast buffet table. The hotel is well positioned and very convenient for all amenities. Redecoration was taking place but this did not interfere with our stay. The lifts are inadequate and the entertainment rather dated, but mainly we had a good stay with no real complaints. Would go there again most definitely.

We stayed at the Burlington for 3 nights could not fault the staff. Rooms were clean, bright and tidy with a sea view. Food was well presented but could have been of better quality for an excellent hotel. Would recommend.

We have been coming now every year at least once for five years and have booked to come twice a in April and august next year for a seven day break everyone is so friendly mark snow the entertainment compare puts his heart and soul in to making your evenings really great.

We enjoyed our stay, food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room (326) although clean, unfortunately overlooked the fish shop! Apparently the sea view rooms at the front of the hotel are up-graded rooms and come at a price, as we were only on a 4-day break we declined. However, on principle we object as rooms we feel, should be on a "first come" basis, without extra charge. The Hotel needs redecorating but on the whole is well presented .

First impressions of the hotel were not good. The car park was not surfaced properly the rear of the hotel is very shabby and in need of a coat of paint. Some of the public rooms are in very poor condition with badly chipped paint and patched carpet. The lifts are very small and inadequate. On the positive side the room was good and the staff and food were excellent. If the quality of the building could be brought up to that of the staff the hotel would merit a five star rating.

The Burlington is the third Shearings Hotel my partner and I stayed at and in all cases there is nothing bad we can say about any of them. The standard of service is excellent, as is the choice and quality of the food. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. We look forward to our next visit.

My Mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night break. Our sea view was spacious and comfortable. The food was good and Mum's special diet was effortlessly cared for. The staff were without exception, welcoming and friendly, especially the kind and helpful manager! The entertainment was varied and of a professional quality. This was our first stay at the Burlington and we will most definitely be back!

Had a very pleasant stay. All staff are pleasant and friendly. All food excellent and well presented. Great room (No 411) with a sea view. Very clean and bright. Excellent value for money, would recommend. Good size car park, holds approximately 55 cars, but get there early as it soon fills up.
