Clean Hotel

We enjoyed our stay, everyone works so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Food was great as was the staff who served you, our waiter was Jonnie who worked so hard around the tables. The rooms are basic but clean. Clean towels each day. A good breakfast is served each morning to set you up for the day. Very good entertainment each evening I was really surprised to have seen such good talent such as Debbie who sings like Shirley Bassey and Daniel a good all-rounder Thanks everyone.

We must give a big big thank you to PETER our coach driver who`s jokes and on board entertainment made the long journey enjoyable. Also a big thank you to BEN our waiter who although worked really hard still found time to tend to our every need with a smile.

First Visit to Torquay

Well wrong thing to do is read these review reports a couple of days before you set off for you holiday, we didn't know what to expect, but I’d said to the hubby, let’s go with the flow, as long as there is somewhere decent to get our heads down and we are able to shower or bathe, we'll take it has it comes, Well our room number 185 certainly wasn't perfect, we never had a refurbished room, crack in sink, chipped bath, decorating a lot to be desired, but hey what do you expect for the price you pay, cheap and cheerful certainly,, but the cleanliness, staff,, the food,, and four drinks vouchers each a night, certainly more than made up for the poor quality of the room, so go with an open mind, we enjoyed our break, and we had 4 days of good weather which was a bonus also the excursions into the price of the holiday, and a special thank you go's to our waiter Luxas who served all our meals, so now don't look too deep into what you read, find out for yourselves.

Great Value for Money

Just returned from 4 days at the Bay Trecarn and what great value for money it was. Included were 4 drinks vouchers for each of us each day which was more than adequate. Comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom, lovely food and terrific staff - particular thanks to Rachel and Coral for their hard work and terrific service.

Brilliant Family Holiday Had By All

We arrived back home yesterday 10.08.2003 after a 7 day holiday with National Travel. We stayed in a family room at the front side of the hotel room 203, we had no problem with the main room its self apart from the bathroom ceiling was mouldy. I went down and reported it to Nicole on Reception and she couldn't be more than apologetic and helpful and said it would be done while we was down for tea because of the bleach being strong and it was done and she said it was unacceptable for it to be like that and she had reported this to senior management but that was are only fault. Yes the hotel needed a lot of work doing but the staff and food made up for all that. Every member of staff we came in contact with was more than lively and willing to help the food was so nice and the 5 of us enjoyed everything we eaten and our room was cleaned every day. But my biggest praise goes to our Waiter Nordi he was awesome at everything he did I’m not a morning person but without fail he cheered me up every day. Nothing was too much for him to do and I just wish I could of brought him back with us to Bolton lol. He was spot on with his job and no wonder he is a supervisor. We would definitely come back again. Thank you to you all hut especially to Nicole and Nordi. Nat, Jon and Dom Room 203.

What can I say

3 oap's spent 5 days here. Value for money very good, service couldn't fault, food hot, well presented reasonable choice, Feri the waiter EXCELLENT Shame about the decor, very tired, numerous damp patches, leaks in the gent’s toilet. Our room was small Crack from top to bottom in the window pane, bath panel damaged carpet badly fitted What a shame because the cleaner kept it clean and stocked with tea coffee see that many reviews say this corridor damp, sort problem & I would upgrade 2 a 4*

Charming Place

I'm just back from a 5 day break with Caledonian travel. Lovely hotel although we did find our twin room a bit on the small side, and couldn't get any hot water on the first morning. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. S special mention to Kirsten in the dining room, exceptional service from here. Looking for a good value break, then this is the hotel.

Great Value Holiday

Just had a great 5 days with National Holidays at this hotel. I would like to say a great big thank you to all the staff. Especially Katarina from Spain and a Polish girl who was doing her training on our first night (short dark hair) I would also like mention the restaurant manager who always had a smile on her face. We had drinks vouchers which could be used during the day. (Very nice)The only negative comment is that the hotel needs a good revamp and the rooms and bathrooms are very tired.

Stayed for 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the comments. Room was small but clean .Bed was very comfortable. Food and entertainment were good and restaurant staff friendly and efficient. Agree that 5 vouchers would be better than 4. Would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant Stay

This hotel surprised us with its Tardis like style. The rooms were quite pleasant, if basic and some needing attention. The staff worked hard both morning and in the evening, to ensure we had a good time. We cannot fault the meals as there were options at breakfast and dinner. The Inclusive deal and entertainment, in the form of bingo and entertainers (?), enabled us to pass the evening away. This was probably a good thing due to the summer monsoon when we were there. Try as a last minute deal.

National Holidays

We've just come back from a nice stay at the Trecarn hotel food and entertainment was excellent, rooms could do with some t.l.c. but ok as you only sleep in the room, bathroom very small and need some t.l.c. but no complaints. All the staff are very friendly. Big queue for drinks every night but not a problem. Would definitely go again, especially with National Holidays our coach driver frank was excellent. Overall good price and good holiday no complaints at all thank you all at Trecarn Hotel and National Holidays.

Weekend Break

The whole experience from the time I booked was great. The staff are this hotels greatest asset. Nothing was too much trouble. Our waiter Dean was fantastic. The hotel is tired. Needs some TLC but its ok. Bathrooms are small and need some work but the bed was comfortable and it was clean. My parents had a great time as did we and that is all that matters. Everyone can find something to complain about even if you are in 5 Star, so for the money it hits all the buttons. Give it a go.

Weekend break

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff friendly and approachable. The food was good and always served hot by a hard working but cheerful waitress. On the downside the shower water was not hot especially at peak times. When the England European Cup match was televised the football fans were relegated to the bar area and 50 people were squeezed into a very small area and not allowed to have the sound on in case it interfered with the bingo! No marks for patriotism I am afraid.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Trecarn Hotel. When we entered our room there were a few things wrong(nothing serious) I reported the problems at reception and was amazed everything was rectified within the hour (that's service for you) As for the food it couldn't be faulted, as couldn't the staff. The evening entertainment was great especially coupled with the four daily free drinks. Keep up the good work Trecarn we will certainly be back.

My friend and I enjoyed our time in Torquay. The hotel reception and ground floor areas were very nice and room was comfortable but could do with redecoration. However meals were fine and staff friendly. Part of the inclusive trip was a free bar at night for 3 hours. Could not spend our time in long line of people for a drink so went elsewhere at night! Must be a better system for the bar!!!

National Coach Holiday

This was our first Coach holiday. We had seen mixed reviews about the Bay Trecarn, and were a little concerned. We had no need to be, we had an EXCELLENT HOLIDAY. Staff were incredibly friendly, the service was excellent. The food was FIRST CLASS, there was nothing on the menu we did not like, and everything well cooked. The entertainment was superb, something every evening. We would certainly have no hesitation in booking again, or recommending this hotel to friends and family.

Great holiday with National Holidays

I went on holiday in may. I was a little unsure when I read reviews but my friend and I were delighted with everything. Food great should be graded 4 stars for it staff so helpful couldn’t do enough for you. I requested shower got, refurbished room got, room away from reception area, got. Although other people said they were over that area and no noise at all. They also put on a Saturday trip extra which went 2hrs in Torquay and 2hrs in Paignton which was half the cost of local bus service. Enjoy.

Weekend Break

We had a lovely all inclusive weekend at the Bay Trecarn Hotel. The food was excellent but not enough for my liking (breakfast – 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 sausage, a spoonful of beans and half a tomato) I am a big man whom likes his breakfast. Evening meals were a nice choice and the service is excellent. The hotel reception, bar and entertainment room were all refurbished to a very good standard. The guest rooms themselves are a bit tired and well worn but not overly bad. I would certainly go back.
