Bay Trecarn Hotel, Torquay

My mother and I recently stayed in your hotel and I would like to say a massive big thank you for looking after us so well we both found the service to be excellent and we were made to feel like family by the staff and management, we found the entertainment at the hotel to be first class and I would recommend your hotel to everyone looking for a top rate holiday and a quality place to stay.

I'm just back from a 5 day break with Caledonian travel. Lovely hotel although we did find our twin room a bit on the small side, and couldn't get any hot water on the first morning. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. S special mention to Kirsten in the dining room, exceptional service from here. Looking for a good value break, then this is the hotel.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff that helped Saturday night to make my husband’s 60th birthday party a memorable event. The function room was set up lovely and the staff were great and very helpful. I cannot thank them enough and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for future events.

Just had a great 5 days with National Holidays at this hotel. I would like to say a great big thank you to all the staff. Especially Katarina from Spain and a Polish girl who was doing her training on our first night (short dark hair) I would also like mention the restaurant manager who always had a smile on her face. We had drinks vouchers which could be used during the day. (Very nice)The only negative comment is that the hotel needs a good revamp and the rooms and bathrooms are very tired.

Stayed for 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the comments. Room was small but clean .Bed was very comfortable. Food and entertainment were good and restaurant staff friendly and efficient. Agree that 5 vouchers would be better than 4. Would definitely stay here again.

Had 3 night stay friday-monday great value for money, hotel room very good, food and staff superb, entertainment brilliant, could do with a 5 voucher drinks pack instead of 4 though, lot of people said 4 not enough, overall very good value from national holidays hull, p.s. will definitely be going back, xmas time or February time .

This hotel surprised us with its Tardis like style. The rooms were quite pleasant, if basic and some needing attention. The staff worked hard both morning and in the evening, to ensure we had a good time. We cannot fault the meals as there were options at breakfast and dinner. The Inclusive deal and entertainment, in the form of bingo and entertainers (?), enabled us to pass the evening away. This was probably a good thing due to the summer monsoon when we were there. Try as a last minute deal.

We've just come back from a nice stay at the Trecarn hotel food and entertainment was excellent, rooms could do with some t.l.c. but ok as you only sleep in the room, bathroom very small and need some t.l.c. but no complaints. All the staff are very friendly. Big queue for drinks every night but not a problem. Would definitely go again, especially with National Holidays our coach driver frank was excellent. Overall good price and good holiday no complaints at all thank you all at Trecarn Hotel and National Holidays.

We had a very nice stay at the Trecarn Hotel the hotel was really nice the room was nice and clean not a thing wrong with it. The staff all seemed nice and friendly. The only bad thing was the food was not very good at all we had to eat out it was that bad but if you’re not bothered about the food it was great hotel in a nice place.

The whole experience from the time I booked was great. The staff are this hotels greatest asset. Nothing was too much trouble. Our waiter Dean was fantastic. The hotel is tired. Needs some TLC but its ok. Bathrooms are small and need some work but the bed was comfortable and it was clean. My parents had a great time as did we and that is all that matters. Everyone can find something to complain about even if you are in 5 Star, so for the money it hits all the buttons. Give it a go.

Enjoyed the stay.............. Few things where wrong: - wallpaper hanging off the walls the bathroom was very small.............. The food was very nice... Entertainment was good.

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff friendly and approachable. The food was good and always served hot by a hard working but cheerful waitress. On the downside the shower water was not hot especially at peak times. When the England European Cup match was televised the football fans were relegated to the bar area and 50 people were squeezed into a very small area and not allowed to have the sound on in case it interfered with the bingo! No marks for patriotism I am afraid.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Trecarn Hotel. When we entered our room there were a few things wrong(nothing serious) I reported the problems at reception and was amazed everything was rectified within the hour (that's service for you) As for the food it couldn't be faulted, as couldn't the staff. The evening entertainment was great especially coupled with the four daily free drinks. Keep up the good work Trecarn we will certainly be back.

We had a good break, clean bedding, good food, good entertainment, staff very helpful and pleasant, plus a free bar, well worth visiting.

My husband and I have just returned from 4 day break and we love the hotel our room was very clean and comfortable staff were very helpful and Sam our table waiter was excellent and for bar staff they to were very good. my only complaint would be the time you had to wait in queue for to get a drink all thought the staff worked very hard there just seemed to many people and some could not find seats the staff did manage to get a few but we were packed in but over all very good would go again.

Our stay at the hotel enjoyable excellent service food was very good and the entertainment was good the rooms were a bit small but very clean will not hesitate in going back.

My friend and I enjoyed our time in Torquay. The hotel reception and ground floor areas were very nice and room was comfortable but could do with redecoration. However meals were fine and staff friendly. Part of the inclusive trip was a free bar at night for 3 hours. Could not spend our time in long line of people for a drink so went elsewhere at night! Must be a better system for the bar!!!

It all began with where shall we go for our special day Trecarn Babbacombe was advertising functions so we thought let’s see what they have to offer. we were met by the very friendly and extremely professional management team Steve Jacquie who were very helpful in advising us about the special day operation down to every little detail entertainment room decoration table plans greeting lines etc the function room was amazing and the bar staff extremely polite the food was excellent perfect day

This was our first Coach holiday. We had seen mixed reviews about the Bay Trecarn, and were a little concerned. We had no need to be, we had an EXCELLENT HOLIDAY. Staff were incredibly friendly, the service was excellent. The food was FIRST CLASS, there was nothing on the menu we did not like, and everything well cooked. The entertainment was superb, something every evening. We would certainly have no hesitation in booking again, or recommending this hotel to friends and family.

I went on holiday in may. I was a little unsure when I read reviews but my friend and I were delighted with everything. Food great should be graded 4 stars for it staff so helpful couldn’t do enough for you. I requested shower got, refurbished room got, room away from reception area, got. Although other people said they were over that area and no noise at all. They also put on a Saturday trip extra which went 2hrs in Torquay and 2hrs in Paignton which was half the cost of local bus service. Enjoy.

My friend and I went on a holiday to this hotel and we really enjoyed our stay there. The room was very clean and the rooms comfortable. The food was excellent, with a choice of food at the 3 course meals at breakfast and evening meals. The staff are very pleasant and always helpful. Evening entertainment was also very good. I will definitely go back there again next year.

We had a good weekend away. Food was good, staff friendly, Hotel clean but needs decorating in certain areas. Ideal to use for a base, nothing to do in hotel during the day. Ideal if you like walking. Five minute walk from Torquay Football Ground. Entertainment good, good value for money.

We had a lovely all inclusive weekend at the Bay Trecarn Hotel. The food was excellent but not enough for my liking (breakfast – 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 sausage, a spoonful of beans and half a tomato) I am a big man whom likes his breakfast. Evening meals were a nice choice and the service is excellent. The hotel reception, bar and entertainment room were all refurbished to a very good standard. The guest rooms themselves are a bit tired and well worn but not overly bad. I would certainly go back.

Can I just say that this has been one of the best value breaks we have ever been on. The Hotel Trecarn is in a good location. The room we had was very clean and the meals were excellent with plenty of choice. All the members of staff (from the chambermaid to the manager) give exceptional service, nothing is too much trouble and all very pleasant. The entertainment was good every night. We will definitely be returning.

We both enjoyed our stay at the Bay Trecarn Hotel, the room we had was very clean and had a nice view of the tennis courts. The food was good and there was a varied selection every day, the waitresses were pleasant and quick to serve you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We had a lovely first floor room and the food excellent, both in choice and presentation. One could see that the staff were well trained, they were all so pleasant, even the ones that were not in your domain. Entertainer, Dean Winters sold a DVD and CD for £5, great value for money! The DJ on the Cheeky Girls night played music ideally suitable for the large crowd at the hotel, it was a swinging evening. What can I say about the bar staff, you were outstanding!

My friend and I went for a weekend on one of National Holidays trips.  We didn’t expect a lot for the price (£99 all inclusive) but it was short of nothing. We were both surprises by the excellent service we received from all the members of staff.  The 3 course dinner was wholesome and tasty and there were a choice of breakfasts all served by the very pleasant waitresses.  The entertainment was good too. I will go again later in the year.
