Scarborough is a truly classic seaside resort town - one that is packed with plenty of fun activities across its North and South bays. From your hotel in Scarborough you’ll have access to a whole host of exciting attractions, from traditional favourites to more modern things to do.
Scarborough’s beach runs along the front of the town, split into the North Bay and South Bay with the Castle Headland in between. Both bays offer high quality sands ideal for family fun or a quiet stroll, with the South Bay being the beach where you’ll find the more traditional seaside attractions, including the amusements, as well as the harbour where you can hop aboard a boat for an interesting tour of the coast. Scarborough’s North Bay tends to be quieter, but has numerous ice cream parlours as well as the ever-popular SEA LIFE aquarium and adjacent Pirate Adventure Mini Golf. The North Bay area is typically the busier of the two and is typically the most popular choice for families with children.
During your stay in Scarborough, don’t forget to visit the beautiful Peasholm Park. Decorated in an oriental style and complete with a boating lake, the park features plenty of space for picnics and outdoor games. Through the summer months, live music performances can also be enjoyed at the park’s colourful bandstand. Buy an ice cream, sit back and enjoy the sunshine, for a great day out that you can enjoy without dipping too much into your holiday budget.

At the Scarborough Fair Collection, situated on the coast road towards nearby Filey, you can see a host of vintage fairground rides alongside steam engines, vintage cars and other mechanical wonders, with many of the rides maintained in full working order.
Anyone with an interest in the heritage and history of the area would a do well to visit Scarborough Castle, with ruins that offer fantastic views in both directions towards the North and South Bays. On-site you can learn all about the history that dates back 2,500 years, covering many sieges and attacks that the castle survived right up to the First World War. Alternatively, if you simply want to enjoy views of the area, hop on-board the North Bay Miniature Railway which travels for almost a mile between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills at the furthest point of North Bay.
